The Anthurium, also known as the Tail Flower, Flamingo Flower, Laceleaf and Anthurium Andraeanum, is the world’s longest blooming houseplant – blooms can last up to eight weeks, and new ones will pop up often. Generally found in the wild across the warmest parts of South America and the Caribbean, the anthurium is one of the most striking houseplants. The vivid red, yellow and other colours are not actually its flower, but a spathe - a brightly-coloured leaf! The actual flowers are tiny little things on the spike in the middle of the spathe.
